Position Title: Victim Advocate – Lusk
Location: Lusk, WY and Douglas, WY (in-person responses may be required throughout Converse and Niobrara Counties)
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

The Victim Advocate provides support and empowerment to victims of crime through crisis intervention, direct advocacy, prevention/awareness efforts, and fundraising. This position is ideally full-time; however, CHC is open to part-time arrangements for a candidate who is an excellent fit.Core Service Areas:
The majority of CHC’s advocacy work focuses on domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, elder abuse, child abuse, and human trafficking. This work requires a deep commitment and passion for helping individuals in crisis. Please note: advocates are at increased risk for secondary traumatic stress and vicarious trauma. Candidates with unresolved trauma, who lack a strong connection to the mission, or lack adequate self-care practices may be at higher risk of burnout.Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent
Ability to pass a background check, central registry screenings, and motor vehicle check
Have access to reliable transportation
Ability to maintain confidentiality under W.S. 6-12-116
Completion of 40-hour victim advocate training within three months of hire
Proficient computer skills preferred (Google Drive and Microsoft Office)
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
Ability to self-start
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong problem-solving skills and follow-through
Compassionate, non-judgmental approach to advocacy
Strong work ethic and dedication to CHC’s mission
Work Location Expectations:
Staff the Lusk office one day per week (with potential for increased hours as training progresses)
Staff the Douglas office on remaining days and as needed
Occasional in-person response may be required in any part of Converse or Niobrara Counties
Key Responsibilities:
Victim Advocacy
Conduct intake assessments to determine client eligibility
Provide direct services and support to qualifying clients
Participate in the HOPE Line (24/7 crisis line) rotation
Respond to calls from law enforcement or hospitals
Complete mandatory reporting when applicable
Community Awareness & Prevention
Create and implement public awareness campaigns (including those specific to Lusk and Niobrara County)
Provide or support financial empowerment services
Assist with prevention programs and outreach events in collaboration with the CHC team
Community Collaboration
Maintain and grow positive working relationships with agencies and partners in Niobrara and Converse Counties. There will be a higher focus on Niobrara County agencies, including, but not limited to:
Lusk Police Department
Niobrara County Sheriff’s Office
Niobrara County Attorney’s Office
Niobrara Circuit Court
Represent CHC at community meetings and events
Help identify and cultivate new partnerships
Fundraising & Development
Assist in organizing fundraising events in coordination with CHC staff
Support event promotion and funder recognition
Assist the Executive Director in researching and pursuing grant opportunities
Administrative Duties
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of client services and statistical data
Complete and submit Time and Effort Logs accurately and on time
Other Responsibilities
Help maintain a clean, welcoming, and professional office space
Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Director

POSITION SUMMARYThe Youth Advocate empowers youth victims and inspires local youth through advocacy, prevention, and education programs, as well as fosters relationships between non-custodial parents and their children through the visitation and exchange program.

Outreach and education, supervised visitations and exchanges, and advocacy services to victims of crime
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must pass background check
- Must have reliable transportation

POSITION DUTIES
Victim Advocacy
-Conduct intake assessments to determine client eligibility-Provide direct services and support to qualifying clients

-Respond to calls from law enforcement or hospitals
-Complete mandatory reporting when applicable
Supervised Visitation and Exchanges
-Manage the overall program—including supervision, scheduling, and new client procedures
-Provide parenting classes to clients
-Research and implement best practices for effective child development
-Document and transcribe observations of supervised visitations and exchanges
-Foster constructive communications between custodial and non-custodial parents
-Provide after hour and weekend visitation and exchanges as necessary
-Attend court hearing when subpoenaed
Prevention
-Organize outreach and education presentations/activities and offer them to the community free of charge
-Promote events on social media in coordination with Victim Witness
-Solicit donations for use in youth events
-Promote youth awareness campaigns through traditional and social media platforms
Community Collaboration
-Foster good working relationships with peer agencies and other organizations
-Serve as a CHC ambassador at community meetings and events
Administrative
-Maintain timely and accurate reporting of client services and statistics
-Account for all program expenditures related to events and according to grant guidelines
Miscellaneous
-Assist the CHC team with maintaining a clean and orderly office
-Assist with awareness and fundraising as necessary
-Other duties as assigned by Executive Director
